Applications for the Free Columbia Artist Residency Program
The Free Columbia Artist Residency Program is accepting applications up until June 7 for our fall program which runs from September 15 through December 15. The residency involves the undertaking of a self-directed project, living in community with other young artists, and contemplative inquiry into art, creative impulse, and spirit.
Chymical Wedding Paintings Art Dispersal
Happening at Lightforms Art Center in Hudson New York from 1 PM to 5 PM on June 6th and 7th. All work at art dispersals are distributed on a sliding scale, a model that brings accessibility to obtaining physical art. Click below to learn more about art dispersals!
Artist Residency Program Spring Showcase
Join us for an exciting event on May 30th from 1 PM to 6 PM as we celebrate the work and artists of the Spring cohort of the Residency Program. The afternoon will include exhibitions, artist talks, an art dispersal, and musical performance.
Cold Wax: Composition + Contemplation
For two sessions this July, Laura will teach an in-person intensive in the medium of cold wax, a unique and exciting material for working with color, form, layering, and exploration.

Imagining the Real with Zvi Szir in Hudson, NY
July 11th - July 29th, 2022
Zvi Szir is a co-founder and director of the newARTschool in Basel, Switzerland, where he has been teaching painting, contemporary art, and Anthroposophy for the last 24 years. He is a painter, writer, and lecturer.
Working with paintings inspired by pivotal moments of world development, from old Saturn to the present. For Painters, those who love to paint or would love to paint.
Zvi Szir will be leading courses in painting over three weeks this Summer. It is possible to attend all three weeks or to attend one or two.
The courses will take place at Lightforms Art Center in Hudson, NY, from July 11th - July 29th, 2022.
It is possible to attend single week long classes or to attend all three weeks.
Week 1: How can we imagine and paint the event of the big sacrifice at the beginning of the world? (Old Saturn Imaginations)
Week 2: A world of light and air; how to create unimaginable figures? The human being in its paradisical plant-like stage (Old Sun).
Week 3: The soul is a cosmic battleground; can we re-imagine the images of the fall from grace? Lucifer and the art of painting.
Cost: Suggested contribution $400 per week - sliding scale $0-800
In preparation for the courses, Zvi will be hosting five online presentations in April and June 2022:
April 9, 10am-12pm
and June 4, 11, 18, 25, 10am-12pm.
It is not necessary to register for the summer courses in order to attend the online presentations.
